Thanks for the date, Silvio. My guess is you just got excited to tell all of us as soon as you could and realized this sort of news is perfect for a bigger showcase. It sucks right now but in the end you guys were probably right to wait for the Expo. Even if it was for hype, It's been fun following the drama. It got me back on the forums after years of absence. My wife is tired of hearing about it. :)

You're probably right. Poeple are allowed to jump the gun sometimes aren't they?

I thought this was for the s3700 only but it's also for the s1200 which I'm a happy owner of.

Now this has got me rethinking about what big thing is coming. Anything that makes a good product better is always welcome.

Wyley, aren't you a rather active NI forum member?
Any rumours / speculation of 3700's & traktor support maybe???

either way, I will be at the Expo and frequenting the DENON booth. Can't wait to see all of DENON's great products and hear first hand about the BIG up date. Can't wait Silvio.

Just a thought. But Traktor are announcing their "something big" on the same day. Is it coincidence? Or is it related? Either way it's been fun reading the replys. I don't even own a 3700 and I'm damn excited. Mind you I remember all the 5000 and 1500 updates. The suspense, the agony and of course the thrill once you got your new features. Enjoy what ever it is and like Silvio says it's gonna be "Big"

NI has been working on their own language for controllers such as a

"Bi-directional communication with TRAKTOR via Native Instruments’ high resolution protocol gives the hardware a smoother and more precise feel compared to regular MIDI controllers". (courtesy of NI's website)

NI did say on record that they do not know which update will address platter support, but it is coming (Traktor on record sessions) I know they want a couple of motorized platter controllers under their belt.

A firmware update from denon using NI's language might be a possibility.

Maybe when Denon says something big is coming it could feature a number of upgrades instead of just one. :D

I guess the dj expo will tell us all what's going on.

Denon, do you feel like adding a beta tester for your s1200 updates? I have references

I thought Denon might wait for the last day. Double

I don't know why people are getting upset over this. What possible things can a firmware add to an already outstanding product. Hardware limitation won't let it do DVD, share more than 1 Hard Drive etc.

The only thing I can think of is NI Traktor Pro Native Support or Serato Scratch Live Native Support. Anyone of these would be huge. Adding both to Native Support will be beyond huge.

My thoughts exactly JJ. Imho, anything Denon can/will add to either deck, will be an added bonus to an already feature packed lineup. My 2c's..?.... people should sit back and relax a bit. Enjoy the fact that your deck(s) works great as is, and that the upcoming announcement will just add more stuff to it.

(btw, I've learned a long time ago not to hold my breathe when it comes to dates/times, because things move very quickly in this industry. When it comes to updates, I'm sure Denon wants to maximize their ROI, and if that means pushing back an update so they can add/change/modify something about it just so they don't have to go back in later on to do those things.... well, I say take your time guys.)

Hmmm, interesting. I just noticed that Denon has some other things planned for their 100 year anniversary.

http://www.denon100.com/#/en/products

Something special is on the way. Drawing inspiration from our heritage and joining it with the very latest in technical brilliance, we've developed a 100 year anniversary collection, a special-edition series of products that delivers the ultimate tribute to Denon's century long mission: to faithfully reproduce sound and images exactly as the original artist intended.

Looks like Denon has been working on some other things too (and not just the updates for the 1200/3700).

========================================================================================================

And to keep this thread on track, I started a new thread to allow everyone to post their thoughts about what they think those special edition products might be.

Sad to hear the news that the announcement is once again delayed! Hope it's worth the wait!

Could it be a DDJMM update that allows to define hot the cues / loops on the tracks? :P Speculatin once again!
